Due to a growing need in our community, the Arizona Humane Society offers Owned Animal Foster Programs that temporarily help pet owners going through hardships as a way to keep these pets in their loving homes. One such pet in need of a temporary home while her owner recovers from a major medical procedure is Jazzy, a four-year-old blind German Shepherd, who will need to be cared for up to 90 days until her owner recovers.
Those who know her say Jazzy is the sweetest, most polite girl who is very social and loves snuggles. Due to her visual impairment, Jazzy’s foster family will need to keep a watchful eye on her while she is outside and have lots of love and patience while she acclimates to her new environment. Additionally, it would be best for the home to have either no stairs and no pool or a pool/stairs that are gated at all times to ensure she does not have any accidents.
AHS’ Foster Team will provide additional counsel to ensure the safety and comfort of sweet Jazzy, as well as be on-hand for any questions her Foster Hero may have. Being an AHS Foster Hero is a lifesaving venture with cases that fit every family and lifestyle. By bringing in a foster pet(s), you allow AHS to continue caring for even more of our community’s sick, injured and abused pets by opening up much-needed kennel space. For more information on how to become a Foster Hero for sweet Jazzy or any of the more than 100 pets who currently need a foster home, visit azhumane.org/foster to take the online orientation and apply.
