Aug. 17, 2024. Hundreds of Arizona Rattlers fans traveled to Henderson, NV, to watch their team (Western Conference Champions) compete in the Indoor Football League's National Championship against the Massachusetts Pirates (Eastern Conference Champions). The Rattlers played superbly. They grabbed the lead early and kept adding to it throughout all four quarters of the game. The final score: 53-16. It was the seventh Championship for the Rattlers. Defensive back Davontae Merriweather was named MVP. Other Rattlers standouts considered for MVP honors included Dalton Sneed (three total TDs), Shannon Brooks (three rushing TDs), and Jamal Miles (two receiving TDs). Coach Kevin Guy worked against adversity earlier in the season but finely honed the Rattlers into a convincing Championship contender.
