Following a six-month redesign project, the Estates Course at the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club—Arizona’s newest golf course—will open to public play on Friday, November 3, 2023.
Designed by the Lehman Design Group alongside Scottsdale resident and five-time PGA TOUR champion Tom Lehman, the Estates Course sits on the same footprint as the Arizona Biltmore Club’s former Adobe Course but brings golfers an entirely new look and feel.
Named after the iconic Biltmore neighborhood that surrounds the property, the new Estates Course now plays to a par of 71 and measures 6,721 yards from the back tees, which is an increase of more than 130 yards from the former Adobe Course. Other updated features include new green complexes, recontoured fairways and added mounds throughout the course that offer golfers more variety and strategy. The bunkers are also now enhanced with beautiful white sand and the classic sod-down design.
In addition to offering new opportunities for more challenging play, the course is designed to be more sustainable. The Estates Course features 400 new trees that provide a visual appeal while helping to define fairways and playing corridors, as well as a base of drought-tolerant TifTuf bermudagrass for dry seasons and rye grass for the cooler months. Plus, a new state-of-the-art irrigation system now allows the agronomy team to control each sprinkler head while using high-tech sensors to measure soil moisture and salt levels to allow for precise watering and reduced water usage.
The multi-million-dollar Estates Course project is phase two of the three-phase reimagining of the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club, which includes the new 19,500-square-foot golf shop featuring retail and office space, member locker rooms, fitting rooms, restrooms and extensive storage space, as well as a 19,400-square-foot clubhouse and restaurant that will replace the existing Adobe Restaurant and event tent in 2024 with additional on-site parking and landscape improvements.
