Celebrating "Art in the Pines," guests can view each of these artists painting and engage with them at no cost. Artists are able to paint the natural landscape they see in real time, giving guests the chance to observe as the artworks unfold.
Participating artists include: Carol Benally, Betty Carr, Cindy Carrillo, Tom Conner, Priya Drews, Lydia Gatzow, Terri Gay, Russell Johnson, Cathy Krieger, Gretchen Lopez, Beth Okurowski, Ken Ottinger, Dorothy Ray, Eric Slayton, Dawn Sutherland and Johnny Tanner.
There will be pre-events starting as early as August 10, including an exhibition and a sale of the 16 artists' works at Yavapai College Prescott Art Gallery. This exhibit will run from August 10 to August 20 with a free opening reception on August 12 from 5 p.m.–7 p.m. There will even be an online auction of paintings donated by each of the participating artists, from August 10 through August 20, where auction proceeds will benefit scholarships and art prizes for visual art students at Yavapai College.
The Prescott Plein Air Festival will end on August 27 with a ticketed public reception and art sale at Yavapai College’s Jim and Linda Lee Performing Arts Center and the Yavapai College Prescott Art Gallery from 1:30 p.m.– 4:30 p.m. The event will be catered by El Gato Azul with a cash bar, providing guests the opportunity to meet the artists and purchase their one-of-a-kind paintings.
